The International Information Resources Forum was held at the Mininnovation
On May 14 of this year, the International Discussion Forum “Information Resources as a Tool for Integration into the Global Scientific Space” was held at the Center for Advanced Technologies under the Ministry of Innovation Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The event was organized by the Ministry of Innovation Development.
The event was attended by B. Sotvoldiyeva, Head of the Issuance Department of the Information Resource Center of the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute.
The purpose of this event is to strengthen and develop the scientific and innovative potential of the Republic of Uzbekistan, to discuss topical issues of improving the quality and effectiveness of scientific research conducted in the country by providing scientists with relevant information on advanced research conducted worldwide and integrating the country into the global scientific space.
According to Azimjon Nazarov, Deputy Minister of Innovation Development, the creation of a strong and competitive system of higher education and science has always been one of the top priorities for Uzbekistan. Decisions of the President of Uzbekistan Sh.M. Mirziyoyev’s development and strengthening of the country’s scientific potential, strengthening the role of science in socio-economic development, comprehensive support of scientists and stimulating the quality of training highly qualified scientific personnel indicate an increasing role of basic and applied research in strengthening state competitiveness through the use of advanced innovative developments and high-tech support.
In this context, the Ministry of Innovation Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan plays a key role, trying to maximize the potential of scientific research, high technology and innovative solutions with a view to their further integration into the national agenda.
As world practice shows, access to scientific information and research results leads to an increase in the effectiveness of public investment in science; increases the innovation component and improves the quality and effectiveness of research conducted in the country; provides scientists with up-to-date information on advanced research conducted around the world and as a result contributes to raising the status and effectiveness of science in the country.
The Forum speakers were Erleimen Yerbol Zinaddinovich, International Consultant of the Ministry of Innovation Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Oleg Gennadievich Utkin, Managing Director of Clarivate Analytics in Russia and the CIS, Shahin Girey, Regional Director of Springer Nature, Lyaziza Mukasheva, Official Representative of Clarivate Analytics Central Asian region, Irina Alexandrova, Representative of Springer Nature in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. They made presentations on such topics as the role of scientists in strengthening the competitiveness of the state and the economic development of the country; raising the status of science in the country, the quality and performance of basic and applied research, strengthening the position of Uzbekistan in international rankings; analysis and application of advanced world practice, the experience of individual states in providing scientists with access to international information resources, increasing the efficiency of public investment in science; development of joint steps to improve the quality and effectiveness of research and publications of authors from Uzbekistan.
The Forum resulted in the signing ceremony of the Memorandum between the Ministry of Innovation Development and Clarivate Analytics, as well as the Memorandum between the Ministry of Innovation Development and Springer Nature. According to the documents, it is planned to strengthen and develop the scientific and innovative potential of the Republic of Uzbekistan, to increase the authority and awareness of scientists and researchers of the Republic of Uzbekistan in international scientific circles, as well as to assist in building collaboration between scientific and educational institutions, scientists and researchers of the Republic of Uzbekistan and their foreign colleagues. It is also expected to increase publication activity and citation of scientific and educational organizations of Uzbekistan and to promote the formation of a system for monitoring and recording publication activity in scientific and academic organizations of the Republic of Uzbekistan by creating profiles of organizations in the international Web of Science citation index.
