HISTORY OF THE CHAIR
The Languages Chair of the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute from the date of its foundation contributes to the training of highly qualified specialists for the pharmaceutical industry of Uzbekistan. For the past 80 years there have been mentors and tutors who have made a lasting impression on the life of the Institute and the Chair.
The Chair began its activity in 1937 as a Language course. At that time, the first head of the course was the German language teacher H.K.Dal. At that time the Chair consisted of two Latin teachers N. Mikhailov and I.M. Schwarzman and M. Gregory, a Russian language teacher. In 1941, the Chair expanded with the following teachers:
- E. Schulz – a Latin language teacher;
- Sheverova – a Russian language teacher;
- Rustambekov – an Uzbek language teacher;
- M. Schwarzman – a senior Russian language teacher.
In 1945, on the basis of the Chair, the Chair of Russian and Foreign Languages was organized into 2 Chairs: The chair of the Russian language was headed by S.M. Schwartzman and the chair of foreign languages was headed by I.M. Schwartzman. In 1948, the Languages Chair was united and S.V. Schwartzman was appointed as the head of the Chair. In 1950, the Chair was divided into the Latin and Foreign Languages Chair, headed by the Candidate of Medical Sciences, Assistant-professor N. Rifman. In 1957 these Chairs were reunited and senior teacher S.G. Murashkina was appointed as a head of the Chair until 1986. For the past twenty years, the Chair had:
– Candidate of pedagogical sciences, senior teacher U.Sh. Tursunova;
– Assistant-professor D.M. Ziyodullayeva
– Assistant-professor M.G. Travitskaya;
– Senior Teacher T.E. Fogel.
In 2002, the Foreign Languages Chair and the Uzbek-Russian languages were merged into a Languages Chair. During that period, the Chair had grown and changed both educational, organizational and methodological, scientific and spiritual work. The Chair pays great attention to the development of new books, visual aids and the use of modern educational and pedagogical technologies. In 2002-2009 the Chair was headed by an assistant-professor N.Suyundikov, from September 2009 to March 2010 the Chair was headed by a senior teacher M.B. Umarova, from March 2010 to September 2012 the Chair was headed by an assistant-professor L.Kh. Bazarova, from September 2012 to September 2013 the Chair was headed by a senior teacher UM Yunusova, from September 2013 to September 2016 the Chair was headed by a senior teacher D.K. Khudoykulova and in recent years, since 2016, the Chair is headed by the candidate of psychological sciences, an assistant-professor S.M.Tuychieva, and since that time the teaching staff of the Chair has been working in English, Latin, Russian and Uzbek languages.
In the history of the Chair senior teachers M.G.Travitskaya, L.Kh. Bazarova and N.S.Suyundikov received the title of an assistant-professors.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE CHAIR
Tuychieva Saodat Melikuziyevna was born on June 27, 1966 in Tashkent, in a family of intellectuals. His father is Melikozi Dadajonov – the Candidate of Psychological sciences, an assistant-professor. His pedagogical activity is directly related to the system of higher education and training. For several years he worked as the head of the Chair and the vice-rector of the A.Avloni IGPMI, an assistant-professor of the Chair of Psychology, TSPI named after Nizami. Her mother – Dadajonova Salomat – is a retired honor teacher and public education graduate. She started her career as a primary school teacher and later worked as a teacher in the Chair of Preschool and Primary Education at the Tashkent Institute of Teacher Training and Retraining. Husband – Tuychiev Shavkat – retired lieutenant colonel of interior, son – Tuychiev Bekhzod – director of production at the pharmaceutical plant, daughter Nodira Tuychieva – educator in a private kindergarten. She has grandchildren.
In 1983 she had graduated from the school № 234 in Tashkent with a Gold Medal and entered the Republican Russian Language and Literature Institute and in 1988 had graduated from the Russian Language and Literature Institute. She began her pedagogical activity in 1988 as a teacher of Russian language and literature at school No 109 in Tashkent. In 1993, she was an editor in the journal “Public Education”, in 1994 she had entered the Nizami TSPI the faculty of Practical Psychology, graduated with honors, and was admitted to postgraduate studies on psychology. In 1998 she defended her thesis on the theme “Psychological features of moral education of students of new types of academic institutions”. She is currently a Ph.D., an assistant-professor. Honorary Professor of the Academy “The Ancient World”.
Since 1998 she worked as a senior teacher at the Chair of General Psychology and then an assistant-professor at the Chair of Psychology and Management of the Tashkent Regional Institute of Training Teachers. She continued her career. In 2007 – Vice-Rector on Spiritual and Educational Affairs of the Tashkent Regional Institute of Retraining and Advanced Training Teachers, in 2008 to October 2015 the head of the Chair of Language and Literature Education, from June 2016 to the present days she is the head of the Languages Chair of the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute.
ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE CHAIR
Our teachers, who work at the Languages Chair, teach not only students but also creat scientific heritage. Specifically, in 2003 L.X.Bazarova, N.S.Suyundikov, Kh.Kh.Kholmatov published the text-books “Latin”, “Латинский язык”, in 2007 D.K.Khudoykulova, L.X.Bazarova, M.B.Umarova published “Teaching-methodical manual on translating annotations of the up-to-date medicinal preparations”, in 2013 L.X.Bazarova and N.S.Suyundikov published the text-book “Latin language”for students of the Industrial Pharmacy Faculty, and the text-book “Латинский язык”. Textbook “, In 2010 L.X.Bazarova and V.N. Kovtunenko published the text-book “Английский язык”.
Today the chair is headed by the candidate of psychological sciences, an assistant-professor S.M.Tuychieva. The Chair teaches students at Bachelor Degree on the Latin language and Pharmaceutical Terminology, English, Russian and Uzbek, as well as Master of Applied English and Speech Culture. The Chair has three candidates of sciences, assistant-professors and 20 young, highly qualified teachers. Every year the teachers of the Chair take active part in scientific-practical conferences, seminars, which are organized in the republic. The Chair has teachers who have won prizes in the Republican Teacher of the Year competition. In 2004 the senior teacher of the Chair D.K.Khudoykulova became the winner of the “Master” President’s Fund “Aspect academy” in the UK. Republican contest “The best English teacher of the year” by the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In August 2016 she took a short internship in the UK. In addition, A.E. Abdullaeva and a number of educators participated in a scientific conference organized by the British Council in December 9-10, 2016. Currently, the Chair participates in various seminars, round tables and mutual lessons with the cooperation of the Nizami TSPU, the Tashkent Dental Institute and the adjacent Chairs of the Uzbekistan National University named after Mirzo Ulugbek.
Senior teacher of the Chair of Languages D.Khudoykulova carried out scientific work on the theme “The role and importance of industrial terms in foreign language education”. The complex prepared translation of foreign literature on this subject for students and the textbook “Fundamentals of Pharmaceutical Terminology and the Latin language” with co-authors N.Suyundikov and L.Bazarova. In May 2016 the student of the Institute Sarvar Kakhhorov participated in the Olympiad on Foreign Languages held at the Samarkand Institute of Foreign Languages.
In 2015 the senior teacher M.Umarova became the winner in the contest “The best teacher of the higher educational institution” in the nomination “The best teacher of innovative and information technologies”. She was awarded with the “Certificate of Merit”.
During 80 years, the members of the Chair have been studying the current problems of teaching English, Uzbek, Russian, Latin and pharmaceutical terminology at the Institute. Every year the staff of the Chair is encouraged by the leadership of the institute.
There are 20 professors and teachers in the Chair.

Report of the Chair of Languages in the academic year 2017-2018, 2018-2019 academic year
Teaching staff of the Chair:
20 people, potential – 5%.
The plan for visiting faculty members at the Chair of Languages was discussed and approved on August 26, 2017 at the first meeting of the Chair. The first half of the 2017-2018 school year is scheduled for 15 sessions. All classes are scheduled according to the plan, but only senior Teacher M.Umarova has attended classes of N.Karimova, F.Shirinova and Abdullayeva.
The head of the Chair is expected to visit 8 lessons in the first half of the 2017-2018 academic year, and all lessons are reflected in the attendance record.
The Chair has planned and organized 5 open lessons for the 2017-2018 academic year.
Currently, the Chair has three candidates of sciences, two associate professors and two independent researchers. The average age of the Chair is 43 years.
In the 2018-2019 academic year at the Chair 6 teachers M.Umarova, G.Maxmudbekova, X.Eshkuvatova, E.Madjidov, A.Ergasheva and N.Kenjaeva trained on the plan. A.Abdullaeva passed a 6-week course in Project Management and Certification in India. The retraining plan has been overstated.
This year, the teachers of the Chair prepared several textbooks, namely, S.Tuychieva, G.Makhmudbekova and S.Shukurjonova. pharmacy- 5510500; Industrial Pharmacy – Textbook “For the first-year students of the direction 5510600” Textbook “The textbook of Russian language”, U.M.Unusova, teachers and N.Karimova and G.I. “Materials for Development of Reading Skills for Undergraduate B1 and B 2 students” by Musaeva – “B1 and B 2 reading materials for English for bachelor students” Published articles in more than 30 scientific and foreign journals “Lotin tili va Farmatsevtik terminologiya” for students of the 1st course Russian group. Teachers of the Chair improving their skills according to the plan.
The teachers of the Chair have scientifically and methodically guided with the gifted students, and preparing them for to learn the language the conferences of the Student Scientific Society in order to take part at a high level in a foreign language. In addition, the group of gifted students to participate in the Olympiad consisted of English and Russian languages.
