In accordance with the resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Uzbek SSR No. 211 of May 6, 1967, in March 1969, the Faculty of Advanced Training of Pharmacists (FPCP) was organized at the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute.

The founder and first dean of the FATP was the candidate of pharmaceutical sciences, associate professor T.M. Abralov (1967-1971). In the following years, assistant professor N.M. Ahmedhojaeva (1972-1984), professor E.R.Tashmukhamedov (1985-1986), associate professor O.V.Bondarenko (1987-1995) worked at the faculty as dean associate professor R.Z.Ziyayev (1995-2004) and professor M.M.Miralimov (2004-2011). From 2011 to the present time, Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Professor H.S. Zainutdinov works as Dean of the Faculty.

At the present time, professors Kh. S. Zainutdinov, M.A.Tozhiev, Z. Salikhodzhaev, associate professors A.K. Ganiev, A.M.Tukhtayeva, U.Zh.Akramov, G.M.Ismoilov, M.Z.Islamova, Sh.T. Salyamova, N.A. Abdurakhmanova, X.K.Bekchanov, U.U. Usmanov and senior teachers N.Tesonov and M.X.Tursunov work at the faculty. Besides, leading experts of the pharmaceutical industry such as professors A. N. Yunukhodzhaev and I. K. Azizov, associate professors M.Ya. Ibragimov and E. Nazarov, as well as Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences are regularly involved in the educational process for conducting classes. X.Zufarova. As soon as the Faculty began to function, the advanced training courses in four specialties, namely, as a pharmacist-organizer, pharmacist-technologist, pharmacist-analyst and chemist-expert were organized.

In 1994, another course “Technology and Quality of Homeopathic Medicines” was organized. Order of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 501 of October 23, 1995, served as the basis for major changes in the field of professional development of pharmacists.

In accordance with this order, three courses are organized at the FATP:

  1. “Economy of Pharmacy Institutions and Actual Problems of Pharmacy”
  2. “Technology of medicinal forms”
  3. “Quality control of medicinal products”

The duration of studies in all these courses was 1 month.

In accordance with the order of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 302 “On the further improvement of the qualification of teachers (teachers) of higher and secondary special educational institutions”, on June 24, 1997, at the faculty was organized the course for raising the qualifications of teachers (teachers) of pharmaceutical departments of medical schools.

Pursuant to Order No. 400 of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Improving the Work of Treatment and Prevention Institutions” of September 5, 2001, the order of the Institute No. 128 “On Improving the Qualification of Employees of Pharmacies of Treatment and Prevention Facilities” was issued on September 27, 2001. Based on this order, a special cycle “Organization of the work (case) of a hospital pharmacy” was organized at the FCPR. On the basis of a letter from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 06- / 283 of November 19, 2001, in the 2001-2002 academic year, a specialization cycle for forensic medical chemists was organized at the Institute’s FATP. The programs of the advanced training courses were processed in the amount of 144 hours (the term of training is 4 weeks).

In the 2006-2007 academic year, a cycle was organized at the Faculty of Advanced Training for Pharmacists to upgrade the skills of pharmaceutical companies that are members of the state concern “Uzfarmprom”. From this academic year, cycles are regularly organized on the basis of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP), Good storage practice (GSP) and Good laboratory practice (GLP) with the involvement of foreign specialists.

On the basis of the Regulation “On the procedure for prescribing medicinal products in medical and preventive institutions and for the reception, storage and use of medicinal products by patients (patients), as well as the dispensing of medicines to pharmacy institutions by prescription” registered by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan under No. 2118 June 29, 2010 year and approved by order of the Ministry of Health No. 191 of June 18, 2010, the faculty in 2010 organized a 42-hour cycle “Order and rules for the dispensing of medicines a preschool institutions “and seminars were held in regional health departments.

It should be noted that in order to assist (assist) pharmacists and pharmacists of practical pharmacy and rational organization of the faculty since 1996, on-site bases of the AK “Dori-Darmon”, territorial bases of the institute and regional centers are regularly organized outreach cycles. On-site training sessions are conducted in accordance with approved plans. In a market economy, professional development of specialists, sharpening their professional skills (professionalism) and improving the work of pharmacy institutions are the main guarantee of quality while providing the population with quality products. At the Faculty of Advanced Training of Pharmacists of the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute, taking into account the experience of foreign faculties for upgrading the skills of pharmacists and with a view to solving social and economic problems, since 1996, 5 exit cycles have been organized in each academic year.

The Ministry of Health Order No. 226 of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Improving the Measures to Improve the Qualification of Pharmaceutical Personnel” dated May 18, 2005 approved a provisional regulation (statute) on postgraduate training of pharmaceutical personnel and nomenclature of posts.

  • “The technology of preparation of sterile medicines”

  • “Improvement of professional skills of teachers of pharmaceutical departments of medical colleges”
  • “Industrial technology of medicines”

The cycle “Industrial technology of medicines” is organized in 2015-2016 academic year.
