Information Resource Center
Library of the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute has been operating since 1937. On June 20, 2006, on the order of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On organizing the provision of information and library services to the population of the Republic”, the status of the information and resource center of higher education libraries was received. In order to ensure the execution of this Decree, the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute signed the 32nd order of February 21, 2007, and obtained the status of the Library Information Resource Center (hereinafter referred to as IRC). In its activity IRC operates on the basis of the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan, decrees of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, orders of OTV and SSV and instructions of the institute’s management. IRC operates on the basis of traditional data based on alphabet, systemic, topographical catalogs, and bibliographic card indexes. Various themes of card catalogs allow readers to find the necessary material.
Special attention is drawn to the “Medicinal herbs chart”, created by the former rector of the institute HK Kholmatov. Reference books serve as a source for its creation. In its content, it is possible to calculate the datum. Currently, the IRC of the Pharmaceutical Institute is considerably large. The IRC Foundation has 36,924 books in state, Russian and foreign languages. The Foundation is fundamentally diverse: manuals, textbooks, teaching materials, scientific, fiction, dissertations, theses, diploma works, lecture texts and CD disks, video cassettes (electronic versions of scientific and educational literature). Among the books are rare editions of the XVII – XIX century pharmacy. The IRC serves over 2910 readers through exchange system, reading rooms at the main reading holl and hospice, and Internet classes. The area of IRC is 500m2. IRC consists of the following sections: 1. Department of working with ILR2. Library information service department (including customer service, reading rooms and book keeping)3. Electronic information resources department4. Scientific-methodical and information department (periodicals)5. Department of working with foreign information and library resources In recent years IRC has been sending a large number of educational and scientific literature to the IRC by professors and teachers of the institute. Students are very interested in these publications. The journal “Pharmaceuticals”, published by our Institute, is also presented to Ukraine. The IRC has several questionnaires during the year. They deal with a variety of problems. An analysis of questionnaires allows to identify key points in process. Staff of IRC Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute:

In the 2012 academic year, the IRC has been strengthening material and technical base, textbooks, manuals and equipped with 20 new modern computer technologies. Modern computer technology (27 computers, copying, printer and scanners), and various software, are being used efficiently according to state standart.
2748 CDs and electronic textbooks, manuals, fiction books, books of President, encyclopedias, English-language literature, and so on, were loaded to IRC computers using on the Internet and local network by students. 155 of them are CDs in the form of a “golden heritage”, and they have been trained by professors and teachers of the Institute. The others are electronic copies of literature are provided by students, purchased and donated from CIS countries, which are purchased and donated to help. ARM has its own site on the SSV portal and in “ZiyoNet” network. ARM works on ARMAT and connected to corporate network. The speed of the local network is 100 mb / s, and the speed of the Internet and Ziyo-Net network is 4 mb / s. In order to provide students with more conveniences, the IRC branch of the “Hospise” has been providing Internet services. At present, the necessary literatures of the IRC Funds are transfered into electronic form. The http://karmat.edu/ system in the IRC is based on the use of a corporate network. The ARMAT system currently has 33,409 bibliographic notes. In the Armat system, 660 users are registered and personal cabinet is being formed. The Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute cooperates with Alisher Navoi National Library of Uzbekistan, EBSCO, Oxford University Press, ProQuest, Springer and others. For the using of scientific researchers from electronic databases in higher educational institutions. The IRC should improve its work regularly. Despite all the difficulties, the leading works should be put into life and become a center of culture and information. The following staff managed IRC previous years: 1.
